Welcome to www.non-contactmeasurement.com

LASER-VIEW TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is an integrator and reseller of precision non-contact measurement and inspection systems for industry and research.

Non-contact measurement techniques using laser based gauging and machine vision have many advantages over the traditional contact gauging methods, like calipers, hand-held micrometers, and touch probes:
  • No surface damage, such as as scratches or dents

  • Measurement  repeatability is generally improved because you no longer rely on "user feel" operating the measurement device

  • Properties of soft materials, such as thickness, cannot be physically changed with a laser gauge, like it can with a hand-held micrometer

  • Non-contact gauges do not physically "wear", thus requiring less maintenance

  • Non-contact gauges can be readily automated

  • Non-contact gauges are ideal for integrating into data acquisition systems

Laser-View Technologies provides specialty non-contact measurement systems, integrating  laser micrometers, laser displacement sensors, and machine vision systems.  We offer standard and customized software packages that enhance the usefulness of the sensors and make them into factory floor tools.  Whether you need to measure to sub-micron precision or measure at distances up to 100 meters, we can provide a solution for your application.  Below are examples of some of the very basic measurements that our systems are capable of:

  • Diameter measurement
  • Thickness measurement
  • Distance measurement
  • Profiling
  • Process verification and part/label identification
  • Process error-proofing

LASER MICROMETERS

  • Diameter

  • Runout (TIR)

  • Ovality

  • Thickness

  • Profile

Laser Micrometers

A Laser Micrometer is ideal for non-contact precision diameter measurement, as well as related measurements, such as TIR, ovality, center position, and straightness.  The functionality of a laser micrometer goes far beyond the traditional application of simply diameter measurement.  When properly integrated, laser micrometers can effectively be used to measure both round and non-round parts in bench top laser micrometer and in-process laser micrometer applications.

LASER DISPLACEMENT SENSORS

  • Distance

  • Thickness

  • Profile

Laser Displacement Sensors

A Laser Displacement Sensor is ideal for non-contact precision distance measurement and thickness measurement, and surface profiling.  It is common to integrate a laser displacement sensor into in-process thickness measurement applications.

VISION INSPECTION SYSTEMS

by DVT and National Instruments

  • Measure

  • Inspect

  • Product verify

  • Label read

Vision Inspection

A Machine Vision System  is a general purpose measurement and inspection tool that can be configured to make part measurements, verify assembly processes, and read labels, just to name a few applications.  It is common to integrate a Machine Vision System into production processes for in-process measurement and inspection.
